Anchor Over
  1. 1st over of each innings is an Anchor Over.
  2. All the fielders must be inside the 30-yard circle including bowler & wicket keeper during Anchor Overs
  3. Runs scored in the Anchor Over would be doubled including the extras.
  4. Fall of a wicket in the anchor overs will result in -5 Runs.
  5. A “6” in the Anchor Over: 12 Runs
  6. A “4” in the Anchor Over: 8 Runs
  7. A “4” with one bounce in the Anchor Over: 10 Runs
  8. Above is only applicable during the Anchor Overs.
  9. Double runs scored or any deductions due to loss of wicket will have an effect only on the team totals and will not affect individual statistics

10 Over in each innings to be bowled from one bowling side and to be changed in the next Innings. Team bowling first can decide the side from where they bowl first. Combination would be 10: 20: 10 for the side change.

League & Challenger round Match points

Bonus Point +1 Point (Team winning with the gap 30 Runs)

Follow – on Follow on can be imposed on the opponent if there is a gap of 50 Runs and more. This is completely at the discretion of the Captain whose team is leading
Tie (League Matches & Challenger Rounds) 1.5 Points to each team
Anchor Challenge There will be 1 extra tournament point available in each match, this would be awarded halfway through the chase. The team chasing would receive the point if they are above the equivalent score of their opposition, if they are behind then the fielding team will get that 1 point. If the scores are tied in 10 Over Anchor Challenge then no points would be given to any team (Tournament and Championship).

 

Other Rules

  • A team can only play if there are minimum 7 players available on the ground. If there are less than 7 players than the opposite team will win the match by walk over and will gain points with bonus point.
  • For a Dead Ball / Wide / No Ball the bowler will have to bowl an extra delivery which is a valid delivery.
  • At the instant of a delivery, there may not be more than 5 fielders on the legside. Not more than 2 fielders behind the popping crease on the leg side.
  • For Powerplay, only two fielders are permitted to be outside the field restriction marking at the instant of delivery.
  • For the remaining overs, minimum 4 fielders must be inside the field restriction area (this does not include the wicketkeeper & bowler).
  • In the event of an infringement of above-mentioned field restriction rules, the umpire shall call and signal No Ball.
  • If the match is completely washed out, then 1.5 points each would be awarded.
  • If the match is completely washed out, then for championship 225 and 275 points would be awarded depending on the round.
  • Any team giving walkover would result in Basic Bonus point victory (Tournament – 4 Points and respective championship points would be awarded).
  • Any team giving walkover would be fined INR 25,000/- and they will have to pay this amount before they fly to Dubai.
  • Batting/Bowling change will change after 10-20-10 overs. Team Bowling First will decide the starting end.
  • Teams coming late would be penalised by reduction of their batting overs – 1 over for every 5 minutes delay (Beyond Safety Timing)
  • The above call would be taken by the umpire only.
  • All the captains are requested to accept all the decisions made by the umpires for matches as well as the timing and penalties.
  • Any player found misbehaving and abusing anyone on the ground would be disqualified immediately from the tournament.
  • Any captain blackmailing the organisers for the above decision would be disqualified too with the player.
  • Captains are requested to follow the eligibility criteria, if any player caught then the team will lose the points to the opposite team and captain will not be allowed to play next 3 matches of the tournament and the player would be disqualified immediately.
  • Replacement of player during the tournament can be done only with valid medical certificate, this will be checked by talking to the doctor.
  • Any captain found lying about the above would be disqualified for 2 next matches.
  • Players must wear jerseys provided by Sportobuddy for Anchor City Championship 5.0.
  • Players must wear black track pants only.
  • No player will be allowed to play with jerseys from the previous seasons or any other jerseys.
  • If both the teams do not start the match as per the schedule than the match overs for both the teams would be reduced proportionately so the next match is not affected.
  • If the player is injured, then captain should make sure his player comes out of the field and meets the physio immediately in the dugout to avoid time loss. Any player suffering an on field physical injury while batting will be considered as retired hurt and will be allowed to bat again only after the fall of a wicket.
  • 1st Innings Penalty
    The bowling team needs to complete the allotted 10 overs even if they cross the allotted time limit. In this case, the team batting second will face a penalty of the extra time taken to complete their allotted 10 overs as follows: 5 extra mins = 1 over penalty e.g., Team bowling first takes 50 minutes to complete 10 overs. Here, they will get to bat 1 over less i.e., 9 overs to chase the target / take a lead.
  • 2nd Innings Penalty
    Last innings will stop at the time allotted for that innings and accordingly penalty will be applied to the bowling team. Penalty for slow over rate will be average run scored in the inning + 12 runs for every over bowled short. e.g. Team bowling second finishes 19 overs in allotted time. In this case, the innings will stop, and the batting team will get penalty runs as follows Penalty Runs Calculation is Average runs scored by the team batting second + 12 runs per over.
  • Any player misbehaving with the Sportobuddy Staff / Umpires would be given Red Card immediately and will not be allowed to take any further part in the game and would be suspended for the next two matches.
  • YouTube streaming is only for entertainment / viewing purpose and not for DRS or decision reviews. Umpires' decisions are considered as final and binding on all.
  • For the over No 2,3,12 and 13 Powerplay would be applicable as per ICC rules. In case if the team playing with less players, the call would be as per the umpires.
  • If the match is curtailed, then the umpires would decide the number of overs for the powerplay / innings.
  • For non - power play overs, minimum 4 fielders must be inside the field restriction area (this does not include the wicketkeeper & bowler)
  • In the event of an infringement of above-mentioned field restriction rules, the umpire shall call and signal No Ball.
  • In matter of doubts/issues/queries not covered by the tournament rules, the decision of the organizing committee will be final and binding upon all concerned as per the standard rules.
  • Sportobuddy will not undo any decisions taken by the umpires on the field.
  • Sportobuddy reserves the rights to all decisions pertaining to any issues/concerns raised during and after the tournament.

Note:

  • Sportobuddy will not be responsible for any loss/damage/injury occurring during the tournament or after the tournament. A first aid kit will be provided at the venue but in case of a player needing immediate medical attention, all medical expenses will have to be borne by the player. Under no circumstances, the organizers will be held liable for any such expenses.
  • Sportobuddy will not be responsible for any personal/material loss during the tournament or after the tournament.
  • Sportobuddy is not responsible for the cancellation or postponement of the matches/tournament due to any unforeseen/natural circumstances that may be beyond control.
  • Request for the postponement and/or shifting of matches shall not be entertained.
  • Sportobuddy believes in sporting fun along with safety of all the players, we urge you to use the best of your helmets and guards which is prescribed by your coaches and team consultants.
  • Sportobuddy will not be responsible for any personal/material loss or theft during the tournaments or after the tournaments.
  • If any team walks out of the ground for whatsoever reasons without the umpire’s consent, it will be deemed that the team has forfeited the game and points with bonus will be given to the opposite team.

Late Coming Rules :

  • All the players of the playing XI (Batting & Bowling) should be present on the ground before the end of 1st 6 overs of 1st innings.
  • In case, if a player from the team batting first comes between overs 6 – 10 then he will not be allowed to play in the 1st & 2nd Innings, he will be allowed to play in the 3rd & 4th Innings.
  • In case, if a player from the team bowling first comes between overs 6 – 10 then he will not be allowed to play in the 1st & 2nd Innings, he will be allowed to play in the 3rd & 4th Innings.
  • In case, if a player comes after the end of 10 overs of the 1st innings then he will not be allowed to participate in the match at all
  • No substitute will be given for player who is coming late.
  • Player coming late needs to inform Sportobuddy Management in person.

Reporting time is 30 mins before the match start time.
